Black & Decker G48TD Grill and Waffle Baker – Grills
The Best Grills Reviews – This is the waffle iron I grew up with. I’m convinced my folks ‘ was larger back then, but then perhaps my point of view has changed ( ie – I am larger ). Thank the Lord this thing isn’t pea green!!!! Even though it was green, I would still purchase it. Cons – this is a larger machine and will take up room in your cabinet. Also, the surface gets awfully hot. I recollect burning myself on it more than a couple of times growing up.
Pros – you get to make four “eggo” size waffles right now. Opens entirely as a grill so that you can make two pancakes right now. Plates come fully out for straightforward washing. Inexpensive. After much hunting for a waffle iron some time ago, the sole waffle iron that appeared to come near to this was counseled by Emeril, so that the cost was far higher. BD is fully the most obvious way to go! Overtly , the incontrovertible fact that this the the same design for a waffle iron that I can recollect growing up with asserts enough — the design has passed the test of time. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.

Black & Decker G48TD Grill and Waffle Baker – Grills Reviews
His is my first waffle maker, and first time ever to make waffels. The unit is very well designed, takes up little counter space, but makes four good size waffles, or 2 big pancakes, or four huge pieces of french toast, at one point. Cleans well, if you implement the instructions of soaking the glill plates in soapy water. Cant beat the quality, functionallity, and price from Amazon. They are saying not to use Pam spray, but I do and it work ok.
Just wanted to claim that this waffle iron is great… My husband and I’ve not had one in years and he got a yen for waffles. Read the commentary and sent off for it. Straightforward , simple, and does what it’s imagine to do – make waffles. They’re crisp, good size, and we have worked out the precise period of time it takes for our “liking”. Thanks Amazon! Do not know what we might do without you. Great deal!

Black & Decker G48TD Grill and Waffle Baker – Grills Customer Reviews
By Mark Woodworth – Grills
Know your waffle-baking techniques!!
We have owned this BD model for approximately eight years and get great waffles ever single time. We are purchasing 2 more for our boys. Some revIews protest about fresh quality issues, I believe we will see. Here are 2 waffle cooking tips I use, learned from a 1939 GE model with no temp knob or anything. I plugged it in for four minutes and started cooking. One. ) Heat your waffle iron to the most up to date waffle setting. When it’s heated pour in your batter and start a timer for four minutes, do not use the light on the machine.
You can wait for the steaming to stop but that is “iffy.” The 1st waffle will be a little more done than the rest, which may be light golden. Two. ) If you like them crisper, add thirty seconds or a minute to your timer. Time each waffle and forget the light.
Also-and most importantly-Never Wash Your Griddle Plates!! Follow directions for treating before first use. Then make waffles, clean exterior and put away till next time. You never need to clean the waffle side of the plates. Have butter in your recipe? Me also, isn’t important. Three. ) Cleaning the thing means it never stops sticking. The 1939 model was not washed for many years. ( “OMG, you never washed it??” ) They told you not to clean it! If you use the flat griddle side and need to wash that one side, you can use a little soap and a sponge and / or disposable towels. Utilise a wet one to wash it.
Take it from a good cook, we’ve become excessively fanatic about washing things, and the waffle side will work for you unwashed. The coating and metal clips will last better too. Content cooking!
